Crowns are used to save a tooth that has been grossly damaged by decay/fractures that cannot be supported by a filling.
Dental crowns are typically completed in 2 visits. At the first visit, the tooth is reshaped in preparation for a future crown. An impression or scan is taken and sent to a professional laboratory to fabricate a customized crown.
A temporary crown will be placed to protect the tooth. Please click on Post Operative Care to see how you should take care of your temporary crown.
During your second visit, the crown will be fitted, adjusted, polished and cemented permanently.
