Dental implants are surgical treatments to replace missing teeth by placing a titanium "root" into bone and then attaching a crown or other dental restorations to the implant.
Comprehensive exam is needed prior to dental implant therapy. This usually includes review of the patient's medical history, dental health status, and bone volume with 3D cone beam CT scan.
Additional bone regeneration therapy may be needed. Once the dental implant is placed, 3-6 months of healing is needed before dental restoration is placed.
Dental implants will last a long time with proper hygiene practice and routine dental care.
